Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University in 1998 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2000. For 18 years she specialized in child protection law and was in house counsel at Peel Children’s Aid for 15 of those years. While at Peel CAS, Laura conducted complex child protection trials and appeals.
Laura was Chairperson of the Organization of Counsel for Children’s Aid Society (OCCAS) from 2013 to 2019.
In January 2022, Laura opened her own family and child protection law practice in Oakville. In June 2022, Laura joined Jamal Family Law.
Laura is also a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Laura has lived in Oakville since 2004 and is involved in various community services, most notably, the Oakville Hornets Girls Hockey Association and Munn’s United Church.
