Astha Dhanda

Astha’s practice focus is litigation and mediation in Family and Estate law, assisting clients with custody, support and equalization issues. Astha has a keen interest in child abduction, international child support and abduction matters.

 

Astha graduated from the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, Turin, Italy with an LLM in International Criminal Law. She received her BA LLB from the National University of Juridical Science, a top-tier law school in India in 2013. She has co-authored a book (Victims’ Assistance in India, Suggesting Legislative Reform, A Comprehensive Comparative Policy Review) and various other papers in international journals and books. She has presented her in-depth research and policy suggestions at conferences across the globe. She was awarded the International Global Law and Policy scholarship by Harvard Law School in 2018. She has taught at law schools in India and litigated extensively, before moving to Canada. 

 

Astha has a well-rounded global legal experience and a knack for making people around her feel comfortable sharing their life stories and issues. She is empathetic, has an eye for detail and is open to new ideas. She is a litigator who believes in finding a time and cost-effective solution for her clients.  If not for a lawyer, Astha would have been an artist or a hairstylist. In her free time, she loves spending time with her puppy Simba, a foxy labrador with a pink nose and green eyes.
